FAQ

Everything you need to know about Hesacore grips — from choosing the right model to installation, sizing, and performance.

General — What is Hesacore

5 questions

Hesacore is an ergonomic replacement grip designed for racquet sports like pickleball, padel, tennis, and beach tennis. Its patented hexagonal shape improves hand placement, reduces grip pressure, and enhances control and comfort.

Traditional grips are round and require constant squeezing. Hesacore's hexagonal structure naturally fits your fingers, increasing contact surface and reducing effort.

Hesacore is used in pickleball, padel, tennis, and beach tennis.

Yes, many professional and competitive players use Hesacore to improve control, reduce fatigue, and prevent injuries.

Yes. Hesacore replaces your original grip and is installed directly on the handle.

Benefits & Performance

5 questions

Reduced grip pressure, increased control, less vibration, improved comfort, and reduced fatigue.

Yes. By reducing vibration and grip tension, it can help alleviate symptoms associated with tennis elbow.

Most players experience better control and consistency, especially in soft shots like dinks or volleys.

Yes. The ergonomic shape allows a more relaxed grip, reducing muscle fatigue over long sessions.

Yes. It prevents slipping and provides more consistent hand positioning on every shot.

Models & Differences

5 questions

Main models include GEL, Original (Tour), and Carbon.

GEL: Softest feel, maximum comfort, ideal for players with elbow pain or vibration sensitivity.
Original (Tour): Balanced comfort and performance — the most popular choice.
Carbon: Firmest feel, maximum precision and feedback for advanced players.

The Original (Tour) is typically the best starting point due to its balanced comfort and performance. If you have elbow sensitivity, start with the GEL.

Carbon is ideal for players seeking maximum precision and control, with clear bevel edge feedback.

The Original (Tour) is the most popular because it offers an ideal balance of comfort and performance for most players.

Sizing Guide

6 questions

Size is chosen based on how many overgrips you currently use. Because Hesacore replaces your stock grip, you're recreating the same thickness you already play with.

XS is recommended. Install it with one overgrip on top.

XS is still the best option. Install it with one overgrip on top.

Size S is recommended. Install it with one overgrip on top.

Size M is recommended. Install it with one overgrip on top.

Too small = less comfort. Too big = reduced control. When in doubt, go smaller — you can always add an overgrip to fine-tune the thickness.

Installation & Setup

7 questions

Yes. Installation takes only a few minutes and no special tools are required. Most players install it at home.

Trying to install the grip without lubrication. Always use hot water or rubbing alcohol to ease the grip onto the handle.

Dip the grip in hot water for about 5 seconds, or apply rubbing alcohol inside the grip before sliding it onto the handle. This reduces friction and prevents tearing.

They help maintain the grip's structure during installation. Do not remove them — removing them incorrectly can damage the grip.

Stop immediately and apply hot water or rubbing alcohol before continuing. Never force it dry.

It fits most standard pickleball paddles, tennis racquets, and padel rackets from all brands.

Yes, but performance may decrease slightly after removal. Hesacore is designed for long-term use — the overgrip is what gets replaced regularly.

Performance Details

5 questions

It's not recommended. Hesacore is designed as a base grip — an overgrip is added on top to provide tackiness, sweat absorption, and the surface feel you're used to.

Indirectly, yes. Better hand positioning and less grip pressure translates to more wrist freedom and improved spin generation.

Combined with a Hesatac overgrip or the Hesacore Instant Dry Grip Spray, yes — you'll have consistent, non-slip feel even in humid conditions.

Yes. Hesacore complies with all major sport regulations for pickleball, padel, and tennis.

Some players need a short adjustment period — usually 1 to 3 sessions. After that, most find the hexagonal feel natural and prefer it over round grips.

Durability

3 questions

Hesacore typically lasts several months depending on usage. With proper installation and care, many players use the same grip for much longer — in some cases, even years.

No. Since it's always used with an overgrip on top, it experiences minimal direct wear. Most players simply replace the overgrip regularly to maintain a fresh feel.

Usually the overgrip, not the Hesacore grip itself. Think of Hesacore as a long-term investment and the overgrip as a consumable.

Grip Size & Health

6 questions

Yes. A slightly thicker grip reduces strain on the forearm. Hesacore increases contact surface and reduces the grip pressure required, which directly lowers forearm tension.

Yes. A grip that's too small forces over-squeezing, increasing injury risk. A grip that's too large reduces control. Hesacore's sizing guide helps you find the right fit.

Yes. The hexagonal structure distributes pressure more evenly across the hand, reducing localized stress on joints.

Yes. Because Hesacore reduces the need to squeeze tightly, you get the benefits of a smaller grip (wrist mobility, spin) without the fatigue and injury risk.

Smaller grips allow greater wrist mobility, making it easier to generate spin and react quickly. The downside is they typically require more squeezing — which Hesacore helps mitigate.

Yes, with appropriate sizing. The XS size works well for younger players or those with smaller hands.
